Evaluation 1

The conventions of a film opening are aspects of the film that you would expect to find within the opening sequence, such as titles, introduction to characters and location.

we made our own company logo which is convention. ' STORM PRODUCTIONS'

this is an example of a production company logo. this helped us to make ours and this always comes at the beginning of a film. the majority of AS students used the candimedia company logo we decided we wanted to make ours unique , so we decided to make our own company logo. from this we can easily differentiate ourselves from our competitors. our company logo also gives our audience an idea of what type of genre'\sub genre our movie will be before they even watch the full movie.

this is our distribution company logo. 'ENTERTAINMENT TWO'

this is another distribution company logo from another film , which helped us think of a name,  we didn't  want to use an existing company distribution, so we decided to make our own. which we were hoping would stand out from everyone else.

our title is after the distribution company logo , which is conventional  here is an example of this in another film....

we made sure we done this to make our opening sequence as conventional as possible but we also made sure it wasn't going to be predictable and boring.

as you can see from the above our opening sequence follows  convention such as titles ,distribution company , production logo . we also did the same for introducing characters and location.  this also can be used to establish our genre

In an opening of a film the genre can be established, this can be done through the editing of a film, for example in the beginning of our opening  you will notice that in our production logo  there is thunder and there is a sinister face which appears in the cloud which suggests to the viewer that the movie is going to be a thriller horror.
