Evaluation - Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?





From what I have learnt the conventions of an actual film opening are:
-The Production & Distributors Logo / Name
-The name of the film doesn’t have a fixed place in an opening title sequence.
If the name of the film is shown at the end of a title sequence it could come across as a short film. When well known actors are in the film the title of the film would appear after the actor’s titles (This is because the main actors towards the beginning / famous actors are used a marketing tool). But if not very will known actors are used the title would come before the actors.
-The Director name is important (screen play by, adaptive play by)
This title also doesn’t have a fixed place. If the film is directed by a big well known director it would be the last title but if it isn’t a big director it would be seen after the film title (before the actors)
-Names of actors.
The important actors will have their name on the screen by its self first. Lesser important actors will have 2 or 3 names on the screen.
-The middle onwards of the title sequence is the casting and technical names / titles
            Editing / Editors
            Sound
            Make-Up
            Costume
            DOP – Director of Photography
